Our Team




Heather Chamberlain , M.S., OTR/L
Heather earned a bachelor's degree in health care studies in 2018 and master's degree in occupational therapy in 2019 from Husson University. Heather completed an international fieldwork with Partners for Rural Health in the Dominican Republic, providing occupational therapy services to under-served rural villages. From there, Heather completed hand therapy fieldwork under the direct guidance of a certified hand therapist. After college, Heather began working in an outpatient orthopedic center, specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation and hand therapy, including custom thermoplastic orthotic fabrication. She is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists, and is accruing direct practice experience hours in hand therapy to become a certified hand therapist. Heather enjoys visiting the Maine coast, swimming and going to the beach.

Thomas Gjeltema, P.T., DPT, OCS
Thomas received a doctorate in physical therapy at the University of New England. He has been working in outpatient orthopedics with Saco Bay since 2018. Tom is a certified orthopedic specialist. He has continued education in overuse injuries, kinieso taping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, dry needling, workers' compensation and ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation. Tom also has training with work conditioning and functional capacity evaluation training. He has a personal connection to physical therapy, having undergone treatment himself after dislocating his shoulder while attending Marine Corps Officer Candidates School. Now, as a treating physical therapist, Tom has a deep appreciation for the patient experience and how treatment impacts lives. He loves spending time with his wife and three kids.

Brian Rhuland , PTA, CSCS
Brian has been a member of Saco Bay since 2015, with 19 years of clinical experience. He has worked in the outpatient setting since graduating. Brian specializes in treating patients who benefit from orthopedic rehabilitation and sports medicine services. Brian completed an associate degree as a physical therapist assistant at Hesser College. He also has certification as a strength and conditioning specialist. Brian and his wife have four children and enjoy camping and sports.
