Complimentary Screening
Find out if physical therapy is right for you.
Life is finally getting back to normal. So the question is, what are you looking forward to doing in the days, weeks and months ahead? Do you have plans to see friends? Maybe challenging yourself with a new workout goal? Or, are you heading out on a family road trip? Aches, pains or an injury should not be part of the fun and memories you’re making.
If you have lingering pain or an injury that isn’t improving, or are experiencing new aches and strains that are keeping you from the activities you enjoy, our team at Saco Bay can help. Not sure that physical therapy is for you or ready to commit to an appointment just yet? A complimentary consultation* is the perfect start. Scheduling a complimentary consultation with our therapists is the first step to determining what's occurring and the right treatment to get you on the road to recovery.
What is a complimentary consultation?
During your consult, a member of our clinical team will have a conversation with you — in-person, on the phone or virtually, whichever is most convenient for you — to get a thorough history of your pain or injury, including how long you’ve been dealing with it and what might have caused it. Then, we will provide recommendations for treatment. Depending on your injury and insurance coverage, you may be able to schedule therapy right away — or we may recommend a follow-up with your doctor for further evaluation.
Injuries aren’t scheduled, but relief can be. A complimentary consultation is an easy way to start the healing process and provide you with the right next steps in your care.
Direct access
Direct access allows you to begin physical therapy and related services without a physician’s referral in most states where direct access is available. If you suffer an injury, have unwanted pain or are experiencing ongoing discomfort you have been “dealing with,” coming directly to our clinical team can help you get back to what you love faster.
The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has lobbied successfully in many states to help change the law to allow patients to go directly to physical therapy without a doctor’s prescription. This process can help you feel better faster and save time and money. Check to see if your state allows direct access on the APTA's website.
Convenience of care
We’ve made it easier than ever before for you to receive the care you need from our licensed therapists in the way that is most convenient to you, whether you’re a patient in our care now or returning to us for treatment.
- Our centers are open and taking extensive measures, guided by the CDC, state and local community, to keep patients and team members safe. For more information on our protocols, please contact the center nearest you.
- For those who need care but cannot come to our center, we will bring our services to you virtually through our telerehab program. Sessions are private, secure and HIPAA compliant.
- Just like the care you’d receive in our center, we will come to your home and deliver the therapeutic exercises, education and techniques needed to address your pain and impairments. Our therapists receive daily health screens and wear masks to ensure safety. In-home therapy is offered in select areas. Please contact the center nearest you to see if this treatment option is available.
Experience the power of physical therapy today to get well and get back to making great memories.
*The complimentary consultation is not available for persons with Medicare or other federally-funded health insurance plans. However, if you are a Medicare or other federally-insured patient, please feel free to call to see if physical/occupational therapy can help you with any functional limitation. As always, please consult your physician to see if your specific medical condition is appropriate for physical, occupational, hand therapy or related services.
