Our Team

Abigail Mills, M.S., OTR/L, Center Manager

Abby initially attended the University of Maine, Orono, before pursuing a master's degree in occupational therapy from Russell Sage College. She has worked with Saco Bay Kids since 2021, previously at our Portland and Saco locations.

Abby specializes in pediatric pelvic health, treating children with a variety of diagnoses including constipation, involuntary urination, stool soiling and Hirschsprung's disease. She also specializes in feeding therapy, which includes: sensory picky eaters; G-tube dependent children; children with impaired oral motor skills; and infants who struggle to bottle feed.

She has experience treating medically complex children and those with neurological impairments, using sensorimotor and occupation-based approaches to therapy. Abby enjoys skiing, hiking, mountain biking and golfing.

Adrienne Beatty, M.S., OTR/L

Adrienne earned a bachelor's degree in health care administration and public health in 2022 and a master's degree in occupational therapy in 2023 from Husson University. During her graduate studies, she gained experience in outpatient pediatrics, adaptive day camps, outpatient hand therapy and school-based therapy. She has special interest in combining her interests in orthopedics and upper extremity with her passion for working with children. She enjoys spending time outside, reading and playing volleyball.

Jessica Vire, Patient Service Specialist

Jess is a welcoming presence at the Saco Bay Kids Pediatric Therapy front desk in Kennebunk. She returns to Saco Bay after spending eight years in oculoplastics in Portland. Jess's passion for orthopedics and patients' rehabilitation needs brought her back to Saco Bay.

Known mostly in the adult centers and helping local high school athletes, she brings 16 years of experience, compassion and exceptional service to our center. Jess grew up in Old Orchard Beach and resides in Biddeford.

Laura Schlacks, C.F., SLP

Laura grew up in Wisconsin and received her master's degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 2024. During her graduate studies, she provided speech-language therapy to pediatric clients in the areas of receptive and expressive language, augmentative and alternative communication, pragmatic language, stuttering and articulation. She loves working with kids and helping them to communicate.

Laura enjoys ice skating, cooking, reading and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

Shae O'Brien, P.T., DPT

Shae attended graduate school at the University of New England, where she earned her doctorate in physical therapy. She has experience treating pediatric patients with a variety of orthopedic, musculoskeletal, neurological and genetic conditions, including: cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, torticollis, idiopathic toe walking and developmental delays. She loves having a meaningful impact in the lives of children and their families.

Shae enjoys exercising, playing soccer, creating art, gardening and being outdoors.

Hand Therapy

Select Physical Therapy’s certified hand therapists (CHT) provide comprehensive and industry-leading treatment for hand, wrist, arm, elbow and shoulder injuries or conditions. Dedicated to managing discomfort and loss of function, OrthoVive Joint Health meets you where you are in your osteoarthritis, or degenerative joint disease, journey, treating the condition and extending the life of your joint. Our therapists can enhance the results of non-surgical treatments and, when surgery is needed, serve as your guide and coach maximizing the use of your new joint. Pediatric Therapy

We offer multi-disciplinary pediatric therapy services – physical, occupational and speech therapy – to help children reach developmental milestones. Therapy methods are typically given in one-on-one sessions, using play-based activities to gain insight into how a child moves, thinks and expresses themselves. Small group therapy helps children build social skills. Additional specialized programs, such as feeding therapy, sensory/emotional regulation, toe-walking and torticollis, are also available. We are committed to providing an exceptional experience that enhances each child's participation in desired family, community and school activities.
