Saco Bay Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy offers a wide range of orthopedic services, dedicated to treating patients of varying age groups and activity levels:

Orthopedics: Whether you've sustained a mild strain, or have had a major surgical procedure, our physical therapists will work with you in a goal-oriented program to regain maximal, pain-free function.

Sports Medicine: We provide sport rehabilitation services for multiple local high schools onsite and in our center. The goal of our physical therapists and athletic trainers is to return injured athletes to their optimal performance level in whichever sport they participate.

Industrial: We are focused on returning injured workers back to their place of employment in a timely and safe manner. We will provide highly focused functional rehabilitation programs that ensure ideal return-to-work status. We also provide screening procedures designed to ensure safety in the workplace.

Our Team

Dakota Krol, P.T., DPT, Center Manager

Dakota is actively pursuing board certification as an orthopedic clinical specialist through The McKenzie Institute Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program. He is certified in mechanical diagnosis and therapy through the McKenzie Institute, USA. He has also completed a course in neurological dry needling for pain management and sports rehabilitation with the Integrative Dry Needling Institute and is a certified professional of the Selective Functional Movement Assessment. Dakota completed his undergraduate education at the University of Connecticut and doctorate of physical therapy from Franklin Pierce University. He enjoys empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery and developing individualized treatment plans tailored to achieve personal goals. He enjoys staying active through weightlifting, cycling and martial arts training.

Valerie Nichols, P.T., DPT

Valerie earned a doctorate in physical therapy in 2022 from the University of New England and bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics in 2017 from the University of New Hampshire. She is a ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation certified therapist with extensive training in oncology rehabilitation. She understands the unique challenges patients face in cancer survivorship. She also has specialized training in pelvic floor therapy and has completed the dry needling level 1 course. Valerie has a passion for fitness, health and nutrition. Her philosophy is focused on the belief that movement can be used as a tool to improve mental, physical and emotional well-being. Valerie enjoys being with her husband and three dogs.
