Saco Bay Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy offers a wide range of orthopedic services, dedicated to treating patients of varying age groups and activity levels:

Orthopedics: Whether you've sustained a mild strain or had a major surgical procedure, our physical therapists will work with you in a goal-oriented program to regain maximum function.

Sports Medicine: We provide sport rehabilitation services for multiple local high schools both onsite and in our center. The goal of our physical therapists and athletic trainers is to return injured athletes to their optimal performance level in whichever sport they participate.

Industrial: We are focused on returning injured workers back to their place of employment in a timely and safe manner. We provide highly focused functional rehabilitation programs that ensure ideal return-to-work status. We also provide screening procedures designed to ensure safety in the workplace.

Our Team

Carla Negrete Martínez, P.T., DPT

Carla specializes in pelvic health and orthopaedic physical therapy. Her interest for pelvic health began after learning physical therapy can be a successful treatment for pelvic pain and improving quality of life. Carla began treating pelvic health conditions during her last three-month clinical rotation, and continues to receive training through the APTA, Herman and Wallace and her colleagues at Saco Bay/Select Medical. Carla received a bachelor's degree in dance in 2011 from Cornish College of the Arts. After dancing professionally on the West Coast, she earned a doctorate of physical therapy in 2020 from Boston University. Carla is passionate about providing education not only about pelvic health, but also about the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and neuromuscular systems. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Academy of Pelvic Health and Neurologic Physical Therapy.

Cameron Willette, P.T., DPT

Cameron received a bachelor's degree in clinical health studies with a minor in counseling in 2017 and doctorate in physical therapy in 2019 from Ithaca College. He is interested in general orthopaedics and the rehabilitation of people with cancer. Cameron has received additional training in rehabilitation of the injured worker and enjoys helping people return to their jobs. He was born and raised in Gorham, Maine where he attended Gorham High School, class of '13. Cameron is also an avid fly fisherman and hiker.

Rebecca Austerer-Blanton, P.T., DPT

Becky graduated from Drexel University with a doctorate in physical therapy in 2005. She moved to NYC to work at New York University Medical Center where she worked on orthopaedic units, neurology units, ICU and med/surgery. In 2008, Becky was hired at New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Portland where she specialized in post-stroke care, Parkinson’s disease (PD) treatment and multiple sclerosis (MS) treatment. She was the leader of the Parkinson’s/MS team where she developed programming to streamline treatments to improve balance, mobility and safety for patients with PD and MS. In 2010, Becky received a FSBPT certification in geriatrics, and is currently studying for another certification in neurology. Prior to being hired at Saco Bay, Becky had her own outpatient center in Portland, ME. In her down time, Becky enjoys hanging out with her family and mountain biking.

Chad Flagg, MPT

Chad is the market manager for the Saco, Saco (Cascade Road), Kennebunk, Wells and York locations. He earned a bachelor's degree in health sciences in 2004 and master's degree in physical therapy in 2005 from the University Of New England College of Health Professions. In 2007, he completed a residency program through the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy with special focus on spine care. Specialty programs include Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), musculoskeletal screens for the golf enthusiast, sports medicine, concussion rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation and dry needling as well as general orthopaedic physical therapy. In his spare time, Chad enjoys Motocross, snowmobiling, hunting and spending time with his wife and two children.

Jessica Russell, DPT, Site Supervisor

Jessica earned a bachelor's degree in clinical health studies in 2013 and doctorate in physical therapy in 2015 from Ithaca College. In addition to treating general orthopaedics and sports injuries, she is certified in the evaluation and treatment of the pelvic floor in which she has been treating men and women since 2017. In 2018, she completed additional training in rehabilitation of the cancer population as part of Saco Bay's ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation program. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2012 and is a clinical instructor to up and coming physical therapy students.
