Saco Bay's highly trained staff will design a specialized plan of care that is just right for you. Through experience, advanced clinical training and clear communication with our patients, our therapy team will give you the advantage in recovery.

We offer a wide range of services, dedicated to treating patients of varying ages and activity levels:

Orthopedics: Whether you've sustained a mild strain or had a major surgical procedure, our physical therapists will work with you in a goal-oriented program to regain maximum function.

Sports Medicine: We provide sport rehabilitation services for multiple local high schools both onsite and in our center. The goal of our physical therapists and athletic trainers is to return injured athletes to their optimal performance level in whichever sport they participate.

Industrial: We are focused on returning injured workers back to their place of employment in a timely and safe manner. We provide highly focused functional rehabilitation programs that ensure ideal return-to-work status. We also provide screening procedures designed to ensure safety in the workplace.

Pelvic Health: We offer patients access to our specialized CoreVia Pelvic Health program. CoreVia provides care - and relief - to men, women and children who experience pelvic floor dysfunction. Our highly skilled pelvic health physical therapists will help you feel your best.

Our Team

Jessica Abbott, P.T., DPT, Market Manager

Jessica earned a doctorate in physical therapy and a bachelor's degree in clinical health studies from Ithaca College. After graduation, she moved back to her home state of Maine and joined Saco Bay Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy in 2016. She has received additional training in evaluation and treatment of the pelvic floor treating people of all ages, has become a ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation certified therapist, has received certification in dry needling and has manual therapy training from the Institute of Orthopedic Therapy. She has a strong clinical interest in injury prevention to young athletes and is working to improve injury prevention programs in the surrounding areas. She enjoys hiking and spending time with her husband and two children.

Gregory Mills, P.T., DPT

Greg earned a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2016 from the University of Southern Maine. After a brief career working in clinical research, he decided to switch gears and pursue a career in physical therapy. Greg later earned a doctorate in physical therapy from the University of New England in 2021. Greg completed the Select Medical Orthopedic Residency in 2023 and will be sitting for orthopedic clinical specialist certification in March 2024. Greg's main clinical interests are general orthopedics, spine health, sports medicine and occupational health. He enjoys weight lifting and spending summers on the boat with family.

Emma Cyr, P.T., DPT

Emma graduated from Husson University, earning her bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 2020 and her doctorate of physical therapy in 2022. She currently finds passion in educating patients about their bodies and working with them as a team on getting back to doing what they love, whatever that may be. She has completed dry needling level 1 course and can offer this to her patients. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and exploring the many mountains, beaches and forests that her home state of Maine has to offer.

Heather Chamberlain, M.S., OTR/L

Heather earned a bachelor's degree in health care studies in 2018 and master's degree in occupational therapy in 2019 from Husson University. Heather completed an international fieldwork with Partners for Rural Health in the Dominican Republic, providing occupational therapy services to under-served rural villages. From there, Heather completed hand therapy fieldwork under the direct guidance of a certified hand therapist. After college, Heather began working in an outpatient orthopedic center, specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation and hand therapy, including custom thermoplastic orthotic fabrication. She is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists, and is accruing direct practice experience hours in hand therapy to become a certified hand therapist. Heather enjoys visiting the Maine coast, swimming and going to the beach.

Julia Nichols, PTA

Julia graduated with a bachelor's degree in health science from The University Of Southern Maine in 2021and as associate degree in physical therapist assistant from Kennebec Valley Community College in 2023. She is passionate about working with athletes and helping them return to sport after an injury. Julia enjoys working with physical therapists and patients to problem solve and reach goals as a team. Julia loves doing outside activities, trying new things with family and friends, meeting people and spending time in the gym.

Kayla David, P.T., DPT

Kayla earned a doctorate in physical therapy in 2023 from South College. She completed her final clinical rotation with Saco Bay Kids and is excited to continue to serve this community. During her clinical rotation she gained experience working with children with a variety of diagnosis including torticollis and plagiocephaly, developmental delay, idiopathic toe-walking, cerebral palsy and more. She also has a keen interest in pelvic health therapy and is working toward certification. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, quilting, painting and trying new recipes.

Jennifer Dunaway , M.S., LAT,ATC

Jennifer received a master's degree from the University of Alabama and bachelor's degree from Towson University in athletic training. She has several years of experience as an athletic trainer working in a variety of settings. She received additional training in worksite wellness and mental health firs aid. She recently relocated to Maine to join the Saco Bay team and has been dedicated to providing injury prevention services as an onsite specialist to local businesses.
