Medically Oriented GymThe M.O.G. offers personalized training plans; on-site physical therapists, certified athletic trainers, and nutrition coaches; and educational and fitness classed designed for diverse yet distinct groups, including fitness enthusiasts, diabetics, post cancer exercise, senior citizens, post physical therapy patients, onsite wellness services, and those fighting obesity.

Meet the Staff

Arthur A. Chase

Bill received his B.S. in marketing from Fairfield University in 1987 and Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 1994.   He has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 1997.
Bill is an adjunct instructor for UNE’s Physical Therapy Program and USM’s Athletic Training Certificate program.  He has worked as a strength and conditioning coach and consultant with local athletes and high school football, tennis and softball teams.  Bill also works as a physical therapist for the Men’s U.S. Ski & Snowboard teams.

Bill is trained in wilderness first aid, is a classifier for the U.S. Wheelchair Rugby Association, and has worked as a certified ski instructor in Colorado and Maine.  Bill is an avid hiker and climbed all the major peaks in the White Mountains, as well as Mt. Rainer in Washington State and the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. 
Bill enjoys distance running and is also qualified as a gait and biomechanical expert in gait analysis, orthotic fabrication as well as related lower extremity injury rehabilitation and program development.

He has recently made the move from being the director of our Standish facility for the last ten years to heading up a highly qualified team at the new M.O.G. @Saco Bay Physical Therapy in South Portland, where he looks forward to using his knowledge and experience to launch an exciting, innovative and collaborative mode of health care delivery that bridges the gap between fitness and medicine.

Neil Carroll

Neil graduated from the University of New England in May of 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training.  Prior to attending UNE he studied Athletic Training and Physical Education at Endicott College.   Neil worked with Saco Bay PT for over 5 years at their Spine Center before leaving to deliver Health & Wellness Services to Milton-CAT (Maine and New Hampshire) through Wellness Coaches USA, the nation’s largest wellness organization. 

Along with working at Saco Bay PT Neil is also the Head Athletic Trainer at Scarborough High School where he works with nearly 1,500 athletes per year.  Neil has covered other events such as the Boston Marathon (2006, 2007), The Beach to Beacon (2005, 2006), The New England Women’s Hockey Championships (2003, 2004) and most recently has worked as the Head Athletic Trainer at the Maine McDonalds High School All-Star Games (2007, 2008, 2009).  Neil currently Co-Chairs the Maine Athletic Trainers Associations Governmental Affairs Committee, and works closely with the MATA’s Reimbursement Committee.

Neil is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and licensed to Practice in the State of Maine (LAT).  He is also an active member in the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the Maine Athletic Trainers Association (MATA) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) where he is currently a Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the NASM. 

With an interest in cancer treatment and rehabilitation Neil is currently studying to become a Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist through the Cancer Exercise Institute, working with cancer patients and survivors understanding the entire cancer process from diagnosis and treatment through reconstruction.  Neil’s other interests include Industrial Medicine & Wellness and working alongside the Industrial Athlete as well as Corporate Wellness and onsite services.
