F. Lincoln Avery MD
Dr. Avery graduated from Williams College (‘77) and Dartmouth Medical School (‘80). He served his general surgery internship and residency at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston from 1980-1982 and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Rochester (New York), before becoming a clinical instructor at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry from 1985-1987. Dr. Avery has been a specialized arthroscopic sports medicine physician since moving to Maine in 1987. A former collegiate ski racer, he is a physician for the U.S. Ski Team and has traveled extensively abroad with the men's and women's Alpine. Dr. Avery is also an orthopedic consultant for the Sunday River Ski Resort.
Michael Hersey PT, SCS, CSCS
Mike graduated from the University of New England. In 2007 he received his Board Certification as a sports physical therapy specialist and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Mike currently provides sports medicine coverage for Old Orchard Beach High School and Thornton Academy. He is also a medical pool member for the US Ski and Snowboard teams. In 2006, Mike received the President's Award from the Maine Chapter of the APTA . In addition he was a Physical Therapist for the US Olympic Snowboard Team at the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.
Christopher Pribish L/ATC, CSCS
Chris graduated from Canisius College Sports Medicine program in 2002. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Chris is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Chris currently works at the Medically Oriented Gym in South Portland providing health and wellness services to at risk populations. In addition, he develops and implements individualized performance training programs for all ages. Chris has been employed by Saco Bay Physical Therapy since 2003.
Art Horne MEd, ATC, CSCS
Art Horne is the Director of Sports Performance at Northeastern University and works directly with the Men’s Basketball team in addition to overseeing the complete development and care of all varsity student-athletes. Horne holds certifications from both the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer in Massachusetts. Horne also serves as a reviewer for Athletic Therapy Today, in addition to his regular contribution to Training and Conditioning, Dime Magazine and Stack Magazine. Horne came to NU in July 2003 after graduating with a Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and Physical Education with Teacher Education Certification from Canisius in 2000.
